Welcome back! or should I say Welcome back to myself! Yes, I am alive and kicking but being pregnant has been kicking my behind! My first 17 weeks haven’t been the easiest but at 18 weeks I am feeling more like ‘myself’ and will be back to blogging on a regular basis.

I found out about Foodie Pen Pals through twitter following: Lindsay Livingston- The Lean Green Bean aka on Twitter: @LeanGrnBeanBlog and you can find her posting also at www.theleangreenbean.com .
I think it is SO FUN!!! I mean who wouldn’t like a fun package every month filled with foodie goodness?! Really its a no brainer! But to get you must also give but its not hard at all and you can do it from anywhere! Thank you Lindsay for thinking of this!!! My June Foodie Pen Pal was Missy Maki. Her site www.mrsmakicooks.com is full of delicious and you should really check it out! Or better yet she is on the radio!! Yes, 9am Sundays on AM860 KPAM Radio hosting the show “Simple Kitchen with Missy Maki”.
My heavy package contained:

• S&P Sweet Potato chips
• Montebello Orecchiette, imported from Italy
• Wild Squirrel Honey Pretzel Peanut Butter
• Dagoba Lavender Blueberry Organic Chocolate bar

I CRAVE…and I mean CRAVE salt and potato chips and then something sweet after so this box was almost too good to be true. The peanut butter is wild!! I’ve never seen pretzels in peanut butter before~ but what I can tell you is that it tastes amazing on cut up granny smith apples
The pasta was made into dinner one night.
Orecchiette with saute veggies in a light Parmesan sauce made from a chick stock base. YUM!!!

Even though I wasn’t feeling too good still, I opted to have another Foodie Pen Pal for the month of July because it is just too much fun!!!
This month I received a Foodie Pen Pal package from Anika Louise. She has a fantastic blog and can be found here http://dogsdishesanddecor.wordpress.com .
I was BLOWN AWAY at the hand made…(illustrated and written) card. Thank you so much for your kind words Anika!!
 
 I was estatic to see an array of goodies! The package contained:

• Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds
• Gummy bears and worms
• Trader Joe’s  Organic Belgian Milk Chocolate bar
• Trader Joe’s Maple Leaf cookies

She hit the 3 S’s

1. Salty
2. Sweet
3. Sour

I love these snacks and they were all delish! The maple leaf cookies were new to me and tasted like waffles
The chocolate bar will be utilized tomorrow as I am making smores’ pops!!!!

"WE" meaning my mom, my dad, sister, 2 brothers, both sets of grandparents, Hubster and his mother, father and brother and Myself...

WE ARE ALL PREGNANT!!!!

Because thats just how it is in a BIG FAT Russian familia...

and I wouldn't have it any other way <3
